We here at the Barrs Mill Church of God believe ultimate joy and fullness of life begins with our ‘Soil’. If one’s ‘soil’ (heart) is soft and pliable it will hear and accept the ‘Good News’ that Jesus Christ saves! Beyond our doors you will find many people, from different walks of life who have softened their heart and found that fullness of life in Jesus Christ, and their lives are producing an abundant harvest.

When are your worship services?

Sunday school begins at 9:15 AM followed by our main worship services at 10:30 AM.

If you are considering joining us for a service, we hope you'll find a place where you are warmly welcomed and feel at home, even if you've never been to church before. No matter where you are in your understanding of Jesus Christ, our prayer is that you will come to know him better. We want to help you get to know God better and enable you to become who he's created you to be.

We have an excellent children's church program for children from birth through high school.  We recommend you arrive approximately 15-20 minutes before the service so you won't feel rushed.

What style of worship service?
Welcome! It’s our desire that you encounter God within our worship services. We hope you find the atmosphere relaxed and informal yet also one in which God is praised and magnified!
 
Worship is a time for us to commune with Jesus Christ, for He truly inhabits the praises of His people. Every effort is made to make our times of worship relevant for both the person who has known Christ for a long time and the one who is getting to know Him for the first time.
 
Our Pastor endeavors to deliver sermons that will both inspire and challenge. With a commitment to keeping the integrity of God’s Word, it is our desire that you will be drawn closer to God through the Sunday morning messages.
 
Our music, which is a blended style of worship, is traditional hymns, contemporary praise and worship songs, instrumental works, and times of special song. From week to week the music style may vary but the message will always speak of Christ and the biblical truth. 
 
We also offer Children’s Church for kids ages 3-8. The children begin in the sanctuary but are soon excused to their class (please note the last Sunday of every month the children stay in the adult worship service for the entire time).

What can I expect at my first visit?

As you enter the church you will be welcomed by one of our greeters who will have a current weekly bulletin with news, our upcoming events, mid-week services, etc.  Our greeters are more than happy to answer any questions you may have as well as give you directions. 

If you have young children the greeters will be glad to take you to their specific area of ministry as well as introduce you to their leaders.   

Be sure to visit the welcome table located in the narthex either before or after the services so that we may have the opportunity to welcome you to ‘The Mill’.
